It is associated with the god Khepri, the morning manifestation of the sun, reborn each day at the horizon. Just as the scarab moves its sphere, the sun traverses the vault of the sky. Its function is not decorative but cosmic: it represents regeneration, renewal, transformation, and the cyclical nature of life.
- The presence of the Eye of Horus (Udjat) introduces another dimension — protection and consciousness. In mythology, the eye symbolizes divine perception, integrity, and restored wholeness. After being damaged and renewed, it became a sign of healing and harmonious order. Its function is to guard, to balance, and to establish stability.
- The overall composition refers both to the principle of cosmic order and to the idea of divine intellect. The order the Egyptians called Ma’at embodies truth and equilibrium as a universal law.
