Scarabaeus Table
Edition — Unique Piece
- It is not a table in the conventional sense.
- It is a presence.
- A materialized idea — created for spaces with character.
- At the center of this work stands the scarab — one of the most powerful symbols of ancient Egyptian mythology. It is associated with the god Khepri, the morning manifestation of the sun, reborn each day at the horizon. Just as the scarab moves its sphere, the sun traverses the vault of the sky. Its function is not decorative but cosmic: it represents regeneration, renewal, transformation, and the cyclical nature of life.
- The presence of the Eye of Horus (Udjat) introduces another dimension — protection and consciousness. In mythology, the eye symbolizes divine perception, integrity, and restored wholeness. After being damaged and renewed, it became a sign of healing and harmonious order. Its function is to guard, to balance, and to establish stability.
- The overall composition refers both to the principle of cosmic order and to the idea of divine intellect. The order the Egyptians called Ma’at embodies truth and equilibrium as a universal law. Thoth, god of wisdom and sacred knowledge, represents the intelligence that understands, formulates, and sustains that law.
- This work is conceived as an artistic sculpture in the form of a table — a functional object with clear collector’s value. It can be used, yet its true essence lies in its symbolic and conceptual depth.
- It is intended for collectors and connoisseurs who recognize uniqueness, craftsmanship, and spiritual substance within material form. As a unique piece, this work unites art, mythology, and function into a singular presence — an object to be both used and contemplated.
